Among all of this chaos, at least I have Emmy's thoughts to put a smile on my face...

If this doesn't make any sense...
It's because I'm delusional from the noxious fumes that have taken over our house. Our basement is fully flooded (not just flooded, but fully flooded in case you're wondering). I think it's important to throw in an extra adverb for dramatic affect during times of crisis. It smells something like a busy stadium bathroom during a winning season I imagine. It's important that it be a winning season to indicate the extra thousands of people who would have used said bathroom. I'll go ahead and even say it would be a men's bathroom, not to be sexist but let's just be honest here shall we? It wasn't that long ago that I requested the Universe cut us a break. Well, apparently I didn't ask LOUD ENOUGH!!! The "clean up crew" is 3 hours late, the smell is getting worse by the hour. I think I'm starting to taste it. And, since I'm using this post just to complain, I'll just go ahead and ask "why does disaster strike when it's just us ladies at home?" This is not in my job description. In fact, I'm pretty sure somewhere deep in the marriage documents it specifically states that the husband is supposed to take care of all sewage problems. Angela - make sure this is written in large font in the summary of your documents, because apparently the Universe uses the CliffsNotes version.

We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming...
I was about to post a little Valentine message, but then figured I should write down a few updates on the girls first. This is mostly for me because it seems so much has happened recently and I haven't sat down to update the baby books yet because if I don't cross a "t" at just the right angle then the whole book will be ruined, RUINED! and I just can't handle that kind of pressure right now. So, here are a few happenings with our ladies that I will eventually write in ink when I have the time to properly indulge my crazy.
First off - Rosa got her first haircut! Woo hoo! At the age of 17 months, she no longer looks like a Fraggle. Not entirely at least. She was not a fan for the first 3 minutes, but then just relaxed in Mama's lap.
Next, Emmy had her first trip to the dentist! At the tender age of 3 1/2 she put on her game face and opened wide. I'm just going to take a second here to pat myself on the back for countless weeks of researching and picking the most fantastic pediatric dentist ever (indulge me, this is the only chance a stay-at-home-mama has for positive reinforcement, there are no raises or career advancements offered at this gig;))! Seriously, Dr. John called us the day before her appointment to say "hi" to his "new friend" and tell her he was looking forward to meeting her. Seriously? Awesomeness. She did really well and fully cooperated with the process even with some very sad wimpering with her mouth wide opened. She got a clean bill of health and a green bouncy ball and was happy as a clam with her new princess toothbrush and "big girl" fluoride toothpaste. The highlight for me was when Emmy was being examined and was wimpering, Rosa walked over and rubbed her arm to comfort her. In the words of Rachel Zoe "I die". (I know Danza is the only one who will get that;))
Last, but certainly not least, Rosa is talking up a storm! This is completely mystifying to us, having waited for over 2 years for big E to start talking. She seems to add a new word every day or so. Today was brought to you by the letter T for "towel".
*On a side note - while the girls were finishing up lunch, Rosa was playing with her water cup and kept tipping it over and spilling water on her tray. She wouldn't even look at me, but would put her little arm out towards me reaching and yell "towel!". HI-larious!
Here's a few of her more recent word discoveries: diaper, backpack, moon, chocolate milk, no thank you, water, spin (pronounced "peen" with great enthusiasm when running towards the green spinny chairs) and Emmy, much to her sister's satisfaction.
Good times at the Lloyd household.

You can see in her eyes that she's gone to her happy place. |
I love the dentist I love the dentist! |

Give A Girl A Break
So, a while back I accidentally deleted a few pictures from this blog and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get them back. I don't even know how I did it really. One of the deleted ones was my profile picture. I figured I should at least try to replace that one. It took me about 3 weeks, literally. Not because I didn't know what I was doing (which is often the case) but because I actually couldn't find a picture of myself. Seriously. There's about, I don't, a zillion photos saved on our computer and I think that I'm in about 10 of them (and of those 10, well...yikes). I even went straight to the holiday/special occasion photos figuring, there would have to be a decent picture in there surely, right? Umm...you tell me.
Now, I'll take some blame for never being aware of the camera,or perhaps talking to it, but for the love of all that is good...my children are never going to have any memories of me smiling!!! I do smile on occasion. Clearly I take the majority of the pictures, but clearly SOMEONE needs to step up there game kid. You know who you are.

Those are eyes of utter amazement or a psychotic break...not sure which. At least Rosa is looking (though, it does sort of look like she has a teeny tiny mustache.) |
Is that what I look like when I'm speaking? Someone should have told me. |
Mmm...yes, that's nice. |
I find it important to constantly verbalize my thoughts to the photographer. |
